Who are we?
Hi! We are the NVHS Anime Club! Glad to see you here! This is a club comprised completely of people who enjoy watching anime and everything related to it!
How does club work?
Really simply, actually. We meet most Tuesdays after school in the large forum room from 2:45 - 4:30. There is a sign-in sheet, but you are not obligated by any means to attend this club whatsoever. However, there is a minimum attendance requirement to attend our End of The Year celebration, so be sure you show up at least somewhat often. During the first few days of club, we vote on which anime we want to watch and watch that anime until the end of the first season. After we have completed our first season, we take another vote on whether to watch season 2 of the same anime or watch a completely different anime entirely. The club has a very chill and relaxed atmosphere to it, and is a great place to come to to relax. There are two types of days in club, "Normal" Weeks and "Special Weeks". During the "Normal" Week, we watch the two episodes of the anime we watched, then two episodes of another anime. "Special" Weeks are themed weeks in which we don't watch the "Normal" Week anime, but instead we vote on a theme the week before and watch anime related to that theme. The types of weeks alternate, so we have one "Normal" Week, then one "Special" Week, then one "Normal" Week again, and so on.
I want to join, but I missed the first few days of club. Can I still join?
Of course you can! When you walk into club, simply put down your name and e-mail on the sign-in sheet.
Are we allowed to eat food and take naps during club?
Yes you are, but you must provide your own food and blankets and/or pillows. Also make sure that any and all snacks you bring are nut free. AND CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF PLEASE AND THANK YOU. WE ARE NOT YOUR PARENTS NOR IS THIS YOUR HOUSE.
Do we play games during club?
Not all that often, maybe once or twice during the year. If you want to bring in your 3DS and battle your Pokemon against a friend, or test out your new Magic: The Gathering deck against a friend, you are free to do so, just don't make too much sound as to let the other people enjoy the anime. There is a club for these types of activities, the Interactive Gaming Club. We prefer that you save these kinds of activities for that club, and not anime club, and we encourage you to watch the anime and "celebrate" the Japanese culture. However, it is not a requirement, we just want you to know that there is indeed a club dedicated to card and board games at this school. Interactive Gaming meets every Thursday after school in the staff cafeteria from 2:30 to 4:00.
Can I show up in cosplay?
Sure! However, the standard school dress code applies. Remember, if Dr. McBride were to walk in while you were wearing the costume, would Beeski lose his job? Would he make you change? If you can successfully answer "no" to both of these questions, then go ahead. If you think it's not appropriate, it's not.
